![]() | I recently got a studio 1557 with a 9 cell upgrade. I was told that the aprox usage would be 5.5 hrs. The other day I used it for the first time and got less than 3.5hrs. I wondered what other peoples experience is. Is there a utility to see what batter you have in the machine? It does not appear in the system hardware. |

![]() | I'd just pop the battery off and check the Capacity value that should/will be printed on the bottom. If it's ~56Wh then it's a 6-cell, and ~85Wh it's a 9. I'm guessing a bit at the values - but my old 9-cell sat in front of me is 85Wh (it now lasts about 20 mins... ) |

![]() | I would suggest that battery life claims by manufacturers are alwys hopelessly optimistic. It assumes your not actually doing anything that uses any power. I've recently bought a Studio17 with a 6-cell battery. I get around 2 hours of wireless internet, so 3.5 hours from a 9 cell would be about right. I'll have a look at checking for battery info tonight, are you on Vista or 7? |
