Hi
I've just received an estimated delivery date for a Studio 17 (UK) that is basically 4 weeks from the order date. NAturally I'm a bit excited about my new kit and was wondering if they have managed to deliver earlier that the date quoted. What kind of experience have you all had with the estimated delivery dates? Naturally I can understand that with a customised laptop it might take a little longer but I am still curious about your experiences. Thanks |

Hi Twitchy,
I always take the delivery dates with a grain of salt. The majority of my orders (customised and default) have arrived within a week, and the rest never more than two. Regards |

Ok, now I understand why it takes such a long time for Dell to deliver my laptop. Its manufactured in China and then shipped to the UK by BOAT! I'll be lucky if it arrives next week. Thats still faster then the quoted 5 weeks, but definately not what I was expecting.

Me too! Its probably a bit of luck that its on a boat cos the whol of UK airspace has been shut down till tomorrow afternoon. If it was on a plane then lord knows where it would be!

Blimey! Its in the WWI - Hinkley Hub! Thats 2 days from China to London ... on a boat! Got the phonecall and have arranged the earliest available delivery date which is on Monday. If this works out then its EXACTLY 14 days from date order was placed to delivery. Not bad really. Shame about the customer service .....
